MERCY HOME, ANAKARAI

 The Home of Mercy for the Mentally and Physically challenged children and women in Anakarai was renovated and was blessed on 12th June 2010, by Rt. Rev. Yuvan Ambrose, the Bishop of Tuticorin. The special children and the abandoned girl children started to experience the love of God through the loving hands of the sisters. They are today provided with all the basic requirements like food, shelter, clothing, education and medication, mixed with the flavor of love, care and fragrance concern.

NARKARUNAI NAGAR, VELLORE

 To accomplish the primary mission of the Congregation, a new home was initiated on 8th July 2010 in Narkarunai Nagar, Vellore, especially for the orphan and poor children. The children are the gift from God, in whose service of fidelity, we, the Sisters see the Kingdom of God on earth.

GUEST ROOMS – GENERALATE

To be hospitable towards the guests and visitors, a foundation stone was laid down on 07.01.2011 to construct the building which will be utilized in the times of the peoples visit to the Sacred Heart convent. STEPPING IN TO NORTHERN PART OF INDIA

By the grace of the Lord, Our Congregation is on its way of extending its mission of giving life to the lifeless all over the world. Another part of our growth is stepping in to new era of the Congregation in a new place, new language and new culture. To quench the thirst of Christ and gospel values, the Congregation was invited to run a primary school in Jetpura in the Diocese of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in the goal of reaching out the most marginalized people, entered in to a poorest village on 1st July, 2011.

GROWTH OF THE MISSION IN NORTH

 This is another stepping stone of the congregation in North India. As our sisters are well known and dedicated for the upliftment of women and girls, the diocese of Varanasi, Rev. Bishop Raphy Manjaly invited us. The sisters started their ministry on 01.07.2011 in a village called Gagaran, which is situated in the Diocese of Varanasi, Gazipur district.

3RD HOUSE IN NORTH

              As a sign of blessing of God, our sisters were welcomed to work in the same diocese in another place called Sakhaldihaa on 1.11.2011, which is situated in the district of Chandauli, by the initiative of Rev. Fr. Victor Dennis and the Most. Rev. Bishop Raphy Manjaly accepted us to serve for the poor and the marginalized in the diocese of Varanasi.

FIRST CONSULTATIVE CHAPTER – ITHAYA NAGAR

It was a mile-stone in the life of the Congregation to convoke the first consultative Chapter on 3rd November 2011 at Ithaya Nagar, Chenganatham, and Vellore. Mother Annammal had healthy discussions on 5th November 2011 on the future of the Congregation with representatives of various commissions elected.

THE SERVICE TO THE CANCER PATIENTS

The destitute of the dreadful disease, cancer, find spiritual support and comfort through the lovable service of the sisters. On 6th July, 2011, the sisters entered in to this divine service in Vellore diocese, a cancer institute run by the Sneha Deepam priests. During their challenging times, the presence of the sister’s service helps them to calm their fears of pain and death.

VANDANAM – NEW HOUSE

The Diocese of Tuticorin invited the Congregation, for the Evangelization and Education of the poor people, living in and around the area of Vandanam in the diocese of Palayamkottai on 3rd January 2012. The sisters work in the school, which is under the Diocesan administration and try earnestly to bring the kingdom of God on earth through the effective education and social mission

VADAKANKULAM

On 3rd June, 2012, the sisters stepped in to a village called Vadakankulam in Tuticorin District, to impart the quality education to the village people and the children. The more we reach the people, the more the people flock around us, by which, we can bring a change in the lives of the poor living in darkness with hope and joy.

NURSING COLLEGE, DINDIGUL

We serve the sick in a very special way through our Medical Care for the people in remote villages, where they have no access to medical centers and health facilities. (Cons 52) The Nursing College was inaugurated on 08.06.2012 in Dindigul, to prepare the sisters for the medical mission. The college is in the motive of giving a standard education of nursing to the economically disadvantaged and girls of the most neglected society. The college prepares a platform for the students to explore themselves to this challenging world through education.

ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Being aware of the spiritual need in the heart of Italy, the new mission was established and extended in Italy, in the place called Velletri (in Velletri Diocese) on 30.11.2011. The mission of caring the Aged people was a stage of growth and opportunity to reach out to the entire world in the search of the poor and the marginalized.

2ND HOUSE IN ITALY

With widespread fascination with the modern world —the challenges in Italy are significant. The new mission was opened in San Felice a Cancello (in Acerra Diocese) on 09.09.2013, for Evangelical ministry. The sisters commit to a path, marked by spiritual stamina, emotional maturity, and reliance on Christ, to build his church and complete in each one of us, the good work he has begun.

GESSATE IN MILANO DIOCESE  

A 3rd house was opened on 30.08.2014, in Gessate (in Milano Diocese) in Italy, especially for the kinder garden school & Evangelical Ministry.

A NEW CONVENT IN MITTADHARKULAM

On 29.08.2012, a new convent in Mitadharkulam, in the diocese of Tuticorin was opened for the mission of Education and the Evangelization. The Sisters work tirelessly to spread the kingdom of God on earth through the Education work.

SCHOOL IN AZHAGAPPAPURAM

Azhagappapuram is a historical place in the annuals of the Congregation, where the Foundress took the decision to spread Gospel though education ministry. In her thinking line, the opening and the blessing of the English Medium School, built especially for the education of the economically disadvantaged children, was held in Azhagappapuram on June 19, 1986.

DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF THE CONGREGATION

The Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was founded by Mother Scholastica in 1952 at Azhagappapuram, in the Diocese of Tuticorin. The 60th year, Diamond Jubilee of the Congregation treading in the path of giving life to the lifeless was celebrated meaningfully in Azhagappapuram, on 15th January 2013. The Bishop of Tuticorin Rt. Rev. Yuvan Ambrose, the Bishop of Vellore Rt. Rev. Soundharajan and the V. G. of Kottar Msgr. V. Mariadhasan, along with 32 priests, celebrated the Holy Eucharist in gratitude for all His blessings received in the congregation for the past 60 years.

NEW CONVENT IN CHRISTU NAGAR

The opening of the new house at Christu Nagar in the Diocese of Kottar marked one more mile-stone in spreading the  good news to the poor and the marginalized. The house was inaugurated on 16th October 2013. The sisters were entrusted with the mission of cultivating hundred fold in the field of Education, Evangelization and Social Work.

A NEW MISSION IN Tholayavattam

The Mission opened on 17.06.2014 in Tholayavattam, Kuzhithurai, mainly for the care of old age Mothers. In the dusk of the lives of these old age Mothers; the best place for them is still remains only in the hearts of their near and dear ones. In the home, they are like open books of experience and they spread joy and happiness in their stay in the home, receiving the love and care of their children through the sisters serving them.

PANDRAVEDU HOSTEL  

The sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus always are very conscious in making the lives of the children under their care, comfortable and easy, so that, in the homely atmosphere the children can feel at home and concentrate on studies well. For this purpose, in the place called Pandravedu, a hostel was opened specially for boys and was opened on 26th June 2014. Around 50 poor children are accommodated in the hostel with proper food, shelter and quality Education.
